sections

E. E. Chapmann, Architectura, navalis mercatoria, 1775.

these images are stolen from an article that i read over the summer called archeology of the section. i like them for their play of interior and exterior and mass and translucency.....i love that by trying to more precisely explain this ship or this leg, something really freakish/bizarre/abstract/graceful has been born.......i really love these.

Le Gendre, from L'Anatomie
homalographique, 1853, transverse section of the upper thigh of a man
at the height of the femur's apophysis.
